The Civil War Battle of Pea Ridge was fought on Marchnear Elkhorn Tavern, northeast of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Union forces, led by Brig. Gen. Samuel R. Curtis, moved south from central Missouri, driving Confederate forces into northwestern Arkansas.

Two Confederate generals were killed in action and the resulting Union victory allowed control of the border state of Additionally, the aftermath of battle and followup of the Armies and leaders, the order of battle (including casualties), and the legacy of the Pea Ridge battlefield are discussed.
